Airport Role and Facilities
Tooele Valley Airport (TVY) currently serves the general aviation needs of the community by providing many aviation-related services, including: business-related flying, sky diving, law enforcement/fire/rescue flying services, recreational flying, and flight training, along with other aviation-related activities. TVY is located approximately 5 miles NW of Tooele, Utah, near S.H. 138. TVY is operated with one primary runway, oriented in a general north-south direction, along with a supporting parallel taxiway system.

Airport Elevation: 4,321.4 feet above mean sea level
Runway 17/35 The single runway at the Airport, Runway 17/35, is 6,100 feet in length and 100 feet in width. The runway is constructed of asphalt, considered to be in good condition, and has a gross weight bearing capacity of 12,500 pounds for the single-wheel main landing gear configuration. The runway is equipped with Medium Intensity Runway Lights (MIRL) and threshold lights are located at each end and 2-box Visual Approach Slope Indicators (VASIs) are located on the left hand side of each runway end. An Instrument Landing System (ILS) is due to be installed in the fall of 2007. Once the ILS is installed the runway length will be reduced by 50 feet to 6,050 ft.
Landside Facilities: The primary landside development area at the Airport consists of a linear layout, running north to south along the east side of the Airport. These facilities include six (6) individual privately-owned hangars, aircraft parking aprons (33 aircraft tiedown spaces), self-service fuel storage facilities, and access roadways. Self-serve 100 low lead aviation fuel is available 24 hours a day.
The most recent Airport Layout Plan Update for TVY was completed in August of 2000.
